I am the Centre Manager at Champion Kids and a fully certified Early Childhood Teacher with a Bachelor of teaching in Early Childhood Education.  I have been teaching in early childhood centres in the Nelson and Tasman regions for over 12 years.

I live in Brightwater with my husband and our children Sophie and Tom, in our spare time we enjoy family time with our dog Bud, camping and spending time with our friends and family.

I have always been passionate about working with infants, toddlers and young children and feel very privileged to be able to provide a safe, fun and exciting early childhood environment for your child and family.

I am the Team Leader in the Cottage area.  I have been working in Early childhood education for over 22 years and I'm still as passionate about it now as I was then.  My husband Cory and I have two children, Regan and Jade.

I believe that whanaungatanga (relationships) with children and their families and open communication are the most important factors when it comes to successful early childhood education.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child(ren) and I am excited to be able to watch them grow and develop during their learning journey at Champion Kids.

I teach in the Cottage area. I gained my Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education in 2016, and I am a fully certified teacher. My teaching philosophy and practice reflects the importance of respectful, responsive, and caring relationships that nurture children's sense of belonging, well-being and confidence as learners and communicators. I was born and raised in the Nelson region and I currently live in Wakefield with my husband Michael who is a builder, my young daughters Arabella and Olivia. I have lived in Colombia, where my mum is from, and Ireland, but I have always returned to Nelson as my home town, my türangawaewae. I enjoy the arts, reading, cooking, and getting out into nature when I can. I consider it an incredible privilege to work with and alongside the children and whānau here at Champion Kids.

Kia ora Koutou,

Ko Joy ahau

I teach in the Preschool Room, I live in Richmond with my son, I grew up in Otautahi (Christchurch) and have travelled around South East Asia, the Middle East and Europe before living in London for a year.  I love learning about different cultures and languages so I am currently working on incorporating more Te Reo Maori into my teaching practices.  I graduated with my teaching degree in 2016 and have been a kaiako for the past 5 years.  Outside of work, my passion is sport and taekwondo.  I have done taekwondo for the past 3 years and compete in tournaments around the South Island. I look forward to getting to know you all here at Champion Kids.
